THE New Abbey Flower Show was held on Saturday, August 9. Although there was heavy rain in the morning the afternoon cleared up and a good number of locals and visitors were able to enjoy looking at the exhibits. Jim Murray, Gelston, won the Barbeth Cup for the most points in the open horticultural classes. Mr Cravens, Cargenbridge won the cup for the confined classes. Mrs Sarah Nugent, New Abbey won the cup for the baking. more
